Dr. Thomas H. Lenhard:  Organizational and Technical Data Security in the context of European Data Protection Law

In this lecture will be presented an overview related to legal things. Then will be explain the importance of technical and organizational data security for data privacy and several cases from practice. In the end, will be shared “nice” things about hacking.

Dr. Thomas H. Lenhard, born 1967, is CEO of the medi-IP data protect UG in Bonn, Germany (www.medi-ip-dataprotect.com). He studied eco-nomic computer science, business administration and management of health and social services. After he managed a clinical data center for many years, he worked as a freelance expert for IT and Privacy (www.it-planung.com) and lectured at various universities in Germany and abroad (business computer science, medical computer science). Dr. Lenhard is appointed as an external data protection officer of the German Society for Dental, Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery (DGZMK). Since 2009 he has been Chairman of the German Association of Consultants and Experts in Health and Social Services (VBSG e.V.). In 2011, Dr. Lenhard has been accredited by the Independent Centre for Privacy Protection Schleswig-Holstein, Germany (ULD) as an expert for IT products (technical). In 2014, he received the recognition as a technical expert of the European Privacy Seal Organization (EuroPriSe).

The presentation will shared practical knowledge related to differences between theory and practice in projects of  the IT security.
